This is probably going to change a bit, I've just been staring at it way too long.

Painter for everything but the glowy effects.

I realized that after looking at it again, the file apparently didnt' convert right from painter to photoshop. The contrast should be a bit better now.

I really need to figure out why that does that.

I'm with the crowd in saying that the betrayer's face is what sells this cover. Excellent atmosphere allround though despite the impressive depth you placed in him. Your rendering of the ship artillery fire has improved and it looks much more dynamic and belonging than other attempts in your earlier works that to me felt a little out of place. Love the damaged portraits as well. They add a great touch.

my favorite portion is still the badguy's face; again, the dynamic color play. color rendering on the other sections is solid, but i dare say you could add a bit of contrast to the main characters to make their skin pop a little more...
